The new single album ‘Substar’ is the last song in the series following ‘We Need Courage’ and ‘ Stage Fright’.’ Substar’ means sub-star, or supporting character. A supporting role in the drama is always the role that helps to support the story of the protagonist. Many people feel like they are living a supporting life in reality. So this is a song I want to sing to a lot of supporters. Rather than acting as an advocate for an already-prepared story, I want to get out of it and live my life as a protagonist.

새 싱글앨범 ‘섭스타’는 ‘용기가필요해’, ‘무대공포증’에 이은 시리즈 마지막 곡입니다. 섭스타는 sub-star, 즉 조연을 뜻합니다. 드라마에서 조연은 늘 주인공들의 스토리를 뒷받침하기 위해 도와주는 역할을 합니다. 많은 사람이 현실에서도 조연의 인생을 사는 것 같은 느낌이 들기도 합니다. 그래서 이 곡은 수많은 조연분들께 불러주고 싶은 노래입니다. 이미 짜인 스토리를 그대로, 누군가를 받쳐주는 역할을 하기보다는, 거기서 벗어나 주인공으로서 자신의 인생을 살아갔으면 하는 마음입니다.

뮤비 또한 이미 공개된 2곡에 이은 마지막 에피소드입니다. 자신을 가두고, 타인으로부터 도망쳤던 주인공은 이제 그런 자신을 그대로 두지 않습니다. 세상으로부터 회피하기 위해 만들어 놓았던 공간을 직접 하나하나 해체하고, 정리하는 모습을 보여주는 것이 이 이야기의 끝입니다. 그리고 그녀는 그곳을 마지막으로 한 바퀴 둘러보고 진짜 자신의 여정을 떠나게 됩니다. 아마 험난할 수도, 완벽보다는 부족한 것이 많을 수도 있지만, 주인공만의 온전한 길이라는 것이 그녀에게 주어진 특별한 의미이고 그것을 이젠 그녀도 알고 있는 것이죠.
