lovemedo - Dancing on the LINE! (Official Video)
Listen to 'Dancing on the LINE!' by lovemedo now: lovemedo.lnk.to/DOTL

Dancing on the LINE! is a sonic tantrum. It embodies that nauseating feeling of falling yet feels uplifting too. The imagery of 'the line’ being reality and the idea of me dancing on it was amusing to me. At the time I was hurt confused and embarrassed about a particular situation so this song became a way of shrugging my shoulders, throwing my hands in the air and asking some loaded rhetorical questions, not because I wanted the answers but to make fun of what they may be.’ – lovemedo

There are those artists that are content to make music for themselves, whose journey with music is purely kept in their own world. Then there are those that want to touch as many people as they can, to comfort and soothe and hold space and inspire. From the earliest of ages, lovemedo knew he wanted to be in the latter category. With a sound that boldly splices together gleaming pop, scrappy punk, indie, rock, and an ingredient that’s entirely just him, lovemedo creates music that deeply connects with his audience.
Enter Blake’s new solo persona lovemedo, driven by that ceaseless desire to connect and impact his listeners. Lovemedo wasn’t a quick idea thought up in a flash – as always, Blake sculpted this project with intention. “I wanted something super thought out and placed for someone to find and feel personally addressed by it,” he explains. “I figured out very quickly that the only real way to do that was to be completely real and authentic.” This vulnerability and authenticity pierces all of lovemedo’s music – he’s not satisfied unless the end product is as real and impactful as possible.

lovemedo is: relentless, open, reflective, constantly striving to capture and project that magic he first encountered as a child. lovemedo’s debut single ‘dancing On The LINE’ follows, which lovemedo wrote in a brief flash of frustration at the industry and the lack of lofi pop music on the radio. In two minutes, he pulled together the “screaming nonsense punk track” and sent it to his manager – who loved it. “He loved it, and I honestly agree,” he says. “I was upset when I recorded it and that rawness came through, it’s the most transparent thing I’ve done.”

LYRICS
have I been dancing on the line all night honey?
but a little MD makes the line kinda feel alright
cause’ otherwise kissing you is wrong am I not supposed to write these songs?
its like waving you goodbye may as well be a knife

oh could’ve sworn we were born to be more than friends
oh kinda liking the way that you fit
go!

was I romantic or did I cross the line honey?
the down town lights says words I feel but just can’t speak
and you’re closer to me than you think
so theres one more thing I’ve left to say
oh nobody loves you this way

oh could’ve sworn we were born to be more than friends
oh kinda liking the way that you fit
kinda love you but I’m just a kid
that you knew since when we were like six

oh have I been dancing on the line all night honey?
I’ve been dancing on the line all night honey
oh I’ve been dancing

have I been dancing on the line all night honey?
but a little MD made the line kinda feel alright
feel alright
feel alright

have I been dancing on the line all night honey?
but a little MD made the line kinda feel alright
may as well be a knife!
