“You’re my candy crush and I’m on a sugar high”

Axelle is something else, huh?!

With ‘Fireworks’, she’s added yet another radio hit to her name, slowly but surely becoming a household name in the growing Belgian pop-scene. Her DIY approach, international appeal and bubbly personality have landed her regular appearances on MNM, Radio 2 & Studio Brussel as well as television stints on Ketnet and Één. With only 3 tracks to her name, she’s become one of the most played Belgian artists on national radio at the moment and has even charted in the Ultratop 50.

Axelle now sets her sight on the charts once again and releases ‘Candy Crush’, an upbeat mix between dancy disco and wavy pop-rock. With an undeniable dreamy vibe, pumping bassline, super crisp production and a hook as catchy as they come, Axelle is clearly proud:

“I feel like this is my best song yet! It came out so naturally and organically, I truly feel like we were able to capture the sentiment I had in mind. It’s a song about first times, really. That tingly feeling you get right before the first moment you try or experience something new. The anticipation, the dreaminess and carelessness.

Whether it’s the first time you fall in love, the first time you go to see your favorite band or your first time riding a rollercoaster, ‘Candy Crush’ is my ode to being young and naive and to that childlike excitement we all tend to lose over time.”

As an artist, it is clear Axelle is growing with each track and it seems there’s no stopping her. Once again all writing, production, marketing, artwork & video work is done by herself and boyfriend Hush.

“We love the grind and we’re really set on trying to show the world that pop-music doesn’t have to be super institutional. Independent pop is a thing! I’ve got so much more up my sleeve and so much more to say, I’m so excited for the future.”

With tracks like ‘Candy Crush’ and a bunch of really cool live gigs lined up for the summer of 2022, it’s not at all difficult to see why she’s so excited: Axelle is on fire and flaming hot!
