Peugeot 908 HDi FAP LMP1 (#908-005) ex Montagny/Sarrazin/Minassian - 5.5-Litre V12 Diesel Engine

I had the pleasure of filming this Peugeot 908 HDi FAP LMP1, chassis number 908-005 built-in 2011, ex-official Peugeot Sport Total factory car at the time driven by Franck Montagny/Stéphane Sarrazin/Nicolas Minassian/Anthony Davidson. We are at the 2018 edition of the Motor Legend Festival on the Imola circuit, in Italy. The car regularly takes part in races that are part of the Masters Endurance Legends championship. The results obtained include second place at the 1000Km of Spa and third place at the 24H of Le Mans in 2011. It adopts the latest evolution of the 5.5-litre V12 turbodiesel engine called HDi supercharged using two Garrett turbochargers connected to two intercoolers. It is equipped with Bosch's common-rail direct injection system and is initially capable of developing over 700 hp and 1,200 Nm of maximum torque. This car, however, is the latest version, has undergone the regular change introduced by the ACO with a reduction in power through flanges and lower turbo pressure. Other features include a carbon fibre body & chassis, carbon-ceramic brake discs on the four wheels, 6-speed semi-automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive. Weight is only 930Kg.

Ho avuto il piacere di filmare queta Peugeot 908 HDi FAP LMP1, numero di telaio 908-005 costruita nel 2011, vettura ex ufficiale Peugeot Sport Total all'epoca pilotata da Franck Montagny/Stéphane Sarrazin/Nicolas Minassian/Anthony Davidson. Ci troviamo all'edizione 2018 del Motor Legend Festival sul circuito di Imola, in Italia. La vettura prende regolarmente parte alla gare facenti parte del campionato Masters Endurance Legends. Fra i risultati ottenuti da segnalare il secondo posto alla 1000Km di Spa ed il terzo posto alla 24H di Le Mans nel 2011. Adotta l'ultima evoluzione del motore 5.5-Litri V12 turbodiesel denominato HDi sovralimentato per mezzo di due turbocompressori Garrett collegati a due intercooler. E' dotato di sistema di iniezione diretta common della Bosch, ed originariamente è in grado di sviluppare oltre 700 CV e 1.200 Nm di coppia massima. Quest'auto però essendo l'ultima versione ha subito il cambio di regolamente introdotti dall'ACO con una riduzione della potenza tramite flange ed una minore pressione del turbo. Altre caratteristiche vedono un telaio ed una carrozzeria costruiti in fibra di carbonio, dischi carbo ceramici sulle quattro ruote, cambio semi-automatico a 6 rapporti e trazione posteriore. Contenuto il peso, circa 930Kg.
