그때로 돌아갈 순 없기에, 그때를 회상하며 지금을 축복하고, 그리고 이제 다가올 더 찬란할 그때를 위해 써 내려간 앨범입니다.

노래를 부르는 게 좋아서 그 즐거움만 보고 시작한 제 여행은 지난 10년 동안 참 많은 것을 경험하게 해 주었습니다.

이 세상 모든 것들이 나를 위해 빛나는 것 같았던 때도, 삶의 무게가 버거워 걸음걸음마다 후회와 슬픔이 가득 찼을 때도, 다음을 그리며 제가 앞으로 나아갈 수 있었던 건 곁을 묵묵히 지켜줬던 소중한 분들 덕분입니다. 그 감사함과 제 사람들의 행복을 바라는 마음 모두, 정규앨범 4집 [그리고]에 소중히 담아 두었습니다.

도무지 누군가를 위로할 수 있는 상황이 아닐 때도 타인의 평안을 위해 기도하며, 그럼으로 저 자신이 위안받으며 써 내려간 가사들로 하여금, 듣는 여러분도 마음 한구석 숨겨둔 시리고 시린 감정들이 따듯해지길 바라봅니다. 또 그럼으로 여러분들도 누군가에게 손을 내밀어 줄 수 있길 바라봅니다.

원하는 대로 흘러가지 않는 것이 삶이라지만
행복이 찾아왔을 때, 그 행복이 사라질까 두려워 누구처럼 애써 감정을 억누르지 않았으면.
시련이 찾아왔을 때, 내가 짐이 될까 두려워 누구처럼 홀로 참아내지 않았으면.

미움이 가득한 세상을 마주하고 믿어왔던 모든 게 한순간에 무너진다고 해도
이 세상 유일한 존재인 나 자신과 흐르는 시간을 믿을 수 있기를
그리고, 나를 둘러싼 주변 모든 것들을 위해 진심을 담아 기도할 수 있기를

당신에게 안부를 물었을 때 잘 지낸다 대답해 주길. 적어도 당신만큼은 덕분에 정말 행복하다 말해 주기를.

Roy Kim, 4th Album [,and]

The irreversibility of time makes us reminisce the past, which holds our present moments together, and we pray for our better selves to come. Such stories are all hidden within my 4th full album 〈,and〉.

My journey as a musician started with only my love towards music, and this passing decade has presented me with meaningful and sometimes burdening moments. The sole reason behind my lingering on when the world fell apart and the weight of reality poured on my shoulders, was because of those to stood beside me, no matter what. My unfulfilling gratitude and deepest wishes for those very people are embedded in my album 〈,and〉.

Praying for others eventhough my heart has yet to reach peace and taking in the consolation while doing so, drove me to this moment. May the listeners also comfort their broken pieces of mind through this album and get the courage to lend their hands to others as well.

Life does not always work as we hope it should, however,
When happiness knocks on your door, do not be afraid to embrace yourself within it.
When sorrow stumbles upon you, do not be afraid to talk to lovers around you.
Unlike me.

Even when everything we believe in collapse in front of us,
may us believe in the one and only ourselves and also in time.
In doing so, let us pray for everything surrounding our broken souls.
