~“malibu.” is about going in circles in a relationship, when in reality it has been broken from the start. it’s trying to move on but that person keeps pulling you close. i feel like sometimes it can be the right move to part ways with what you have left in a relationship, than to try & force something that isn’t there anymore. when i wrote the song, it really flowed very naturally. the writing came so quick & it is only now looking back at the song that i can see how it relates to my life. there isn’t enough time in life to wait for someone to change so sometimes you have to create that change yourself, even if you’re scared of what it will leave you with.~
