Trevor Hoffman highlights | Friar Throwbacks
Born on this day in 1967, Trevor Hoffman was always ready to answer the bell. His 16-year tenure in San Diego spanned four of the Padres' six all-time postseason appearances, including the final out to clinch the NL pennant in 1998. A seven-time All-Star, Hoffman retired as MLB's all-time saves leader with 601 in 677 opportunities, including a 2.87 ERA, .211 opposing average and 1,133 strikeouts in 1,035 innings.
