Randy Jones, a sinkerball specialist and San Diego's first ace, was a two-time All-Star and the first in franchise history to win the Cy Young Award. The southpaw went 22-14 with a 2.74 ERA in 1976, leading the majors with 25 complete games and 40 starts spanning 315.1 innings. Jones' No. 35 was retired in 1997 before joining the inaugural Padres Hall of Fame class two years later. He remains the club's all-time leader in innings pitched (1766.0), starts (253), complete games (71) and shutouts (18).
