The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the San Diego Padres 8-4 at Petco Park on Monday night. Jack Suwinski kicked off the scoring with a home run in the third inning. A 2-run HR from Carlos Santana gave the Pirates their first lead of the night, 3-1. A first-career homer for Liover Peguero extended their Pirates lead to 5-1 in the fourth. Santana hit his second HR of the night in the fifth, making it a 7-1 game. Through 5.1 innings pitched, Quinn Priester allowed four hits and recorded four strikeouts, and he earned his first Major League win.
