The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the St.Louis Cardinals 2-1 at PNC Park on June 4, 2023. Ji Hwan Bae gave the Bucs a 2-0 lead on a 2-run single in the first inning. Starting pitcher Rich Hill allowed four hits, just one run, and he recorded six strikeouts. With Sunday’s win, the Pirates swept the Cardinals and have now won five games in a row.
