Nick Gonzales Hits 1st MLB Hit & Home Run in City Connect Debut | Pirates vs. Cubs (6/27/23)

The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the San Diego Padres 9-4 at PNC Park on June 27, 2023. Nick Gonzales’ first big league hit came on an RBI triple in the second which brought the Pirates within a run. Three plays later, a single from Andrew McCutchen tied the game at 3. Carlos Santana and Jack Suwinski hit back-to-back home runs in the third inning. Gonzales closed out the scoring with his first career home run in the seventh which gave the Pirates a 9-4 lead. RBIs also came from Henry Davis, Rodolfo Castro, Ji Hwan Bae, Santana, and Gonzales. Roansy Contreras earned his first career save on the mound.
