Jacky Ickx's Ferrari 312 B2 (1971) Chassis 005 - Flat-12 Engine Sound & Action

This is the 1971 Ferrari 312 B2, chassis 005, with which Jacky Ickx raced and which saw Clay Regazzoni's winning debut on the Brands Hatch track in a race not valid for the world championship. Its greatest and only success took place the following year, in 1972 when driven by Jacky Ickx, it won the Nürburgring Grand Prix, a race valid for the Formula 1 world championship. Just recently, in 2020 it was exhibited in Paris during the Retromobile fair. I had the pleasure of seeing and filming the 312 B2 in action during the Challenge & GT Days event, which took place at the Red Bull Ring circuit. For the first time, the organizer has decided to dedicate specific track sessions to the historic Formula One single-seaters. The car is equipped with a 3.0-litre naturally aspirated 180 ° V12 engine located in the central-rear position and develops a power of 480hp at 12,500 Rpm. It's moved by a Ferrari type 621 5-speed gearbox and uses four Lockheed disc brakes to stop it. Frame and body are in aluminium, and the overall weight of the car is only 560 kg (1,235 lbs). Questa è la Ferrari 312 B2 del 1971, telaio 005, con cui ha corso Jacky Ickx e che ha visto il debutto vincente per opera di Clay Regazzoni sulla pista di Brands Hatch in una gara non valida per il campionato del mondo. Il suo maggior ed unico successo avviene l'anno successivo, nel 1972 quanto pilotata da Jacky Ickx si aggiudica il Nürburgring Grand Prix, gara valida per l campionato del mondo Formula 1. Proprio recentemente, nel 2020 è stata esposta a Parigi durante la fiera Retromobile. Ho avuto il piacere di vederla e filmarla in azione durante l'evento Challenge & GT Days che si è svolto presso il circuito del Red Bull Ring. Per la prima volta l'organizzatore ha deciso di dedicare turni in pista specifici per le storiche monoposto di Formula Uno. La vettura monta un motore V12 a 180° da 3.0-Litri aspirato situato in posizione centrale-posteriore che sviluppa una potenza di 480cv a 12.500 giri/min. Viene mosso da un cambio Ferrari tipo 621 a 5 marce ed utilizza quattro freni a disco della Lockheed per arrestarla. Telaio e scocca sono in alluminio ed il peso complessivo della monoposto è di soli 560 Kg (1,235 lbs). Godetevi lo splendido sound fra i monti della Stiria!
