Written by IU herself, "Hold My Hand" is a modern rock based on the acoustic guitar, using modern sensations to describe the feelings a couple feels for each other as they are just start out a relationship. Displaying her outstanding composing skills, the song also shows off IU's unique singing technique. G. Gorilla took part in the production and arrangement of the song, adding to the musical perfection of IU's first work.
