Unique rules in the XFL led to Houston executing the first and only double pass of the season for a touchdown. The play started when quarterback Brandon Silvers found Jontre Kirklin in what looked to be a screen pass. Kirklin, who was still behind the line of scrimmage then found Deontay Burnett, who was wide open, for a 49-yard score in the first quarter.
