HERE’S WHY Yuji Nishida Was Unstoppable in 2019 !!! Yuji Nishida (西田 有志, Nishida Yūji, born 30 January 2000) is a Japanese left-handed volleyball player. Currently Nishida plays for Panasonic Panthers at club level.
Nishida's volleyball journey began in 2018 with JTEKT Stings in V.League. At just 17, he quickly secured a spot in the Starting 6 and the Japan men's national team. His leadership led Japan to a historic seventh-place finish at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
In 2018, he made his international debut and played a pivotal role in Japan's first win against Italy in 11 years. Nishida also became the youngest player to score 30 points in a match during the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship.
In 2019, he set a VNL record with 7 aces in a single game. Nishida later joined Italy's Volley Callipo, where he excelled despite injury, becoming the team's top scorer with a personal record of 29 points and 8 aces in one match during the 2021/22 season.
