From Mozart's unusually sombre D Minor Fantasy to Beethoven's transcendental final piano sonata: in this 2017 programme, Grigory Sokolov puts his unique skills to the service of late 18th- and early 19th-century Viennese classics – until the riches of his encores section, which include music from the French Baroque and Impressionist periods as well as German Romanticism.
