Formula E : Everything You Need To Know About GEN3 Cars
A little recap on this season’s GEN3 car that brought many new aspects compared to the previous one: increased power and performances in discharge and regen, a front powertrain, a dual axel design in regen, and the capability to fast charge at 600kW.
Smaller and 60kg lighter than GEN2, the car is optimised for wheel-to-wheel street racing, bearing in mind that sustainability is key to Formula E, indeed its design makes it a net zero race car, with sustainable materials used for bodywork parts, such as linen or recycled carbon fibre.
GEN3 is the pinnacle of electric technologies for motorsport and provides a laboratory for the manufacturers to test and see if there is potential that may be transferred to their consumer vehicles.
The evolution of the four-year cycle project is already underway. The aim is always to ensure Formula E remains at the forefront as the laboratory for future mobility, as well as to understand the challenges faced by manufacturers from a technical perspective, making sure Formula E remains the perfect platform for them.
