Ferrari 250 MM Berlinetta Pinin Farina (1953) s/n 0254MM - 250Hp 3.0-Litre V12 Engine Sound

I love Classic Ferraris, and it's not every day that you see an excellent and rare 250 MM Berlinetta Pinin Farina. This 1953 example, s/n 0254MM, one of a total of 13 built, took part in the 2022 edition of the Modena Cento Ore Classic. I saw it in action throughout the event, both on the road and on the Misano Adriatico and Mugello circuits. The car has an important racing history. Originally belonging to the Italian count Paolo Marzotto with whom he took part in the XIII Giro di Sicilia and in the Mille Miglia in that same year, it was later sold to another Italian count, Mr Innocente Baggio, who finished 19th overall in the 1954 Mille Miglia. The next owner, the Swiss Hans Wirz, used it in uphill races from 1956 to 1958, obtaining many victories, practically always first place in every race in which he took part. Seeing it in action again was fantastic, thanks to its formidable 3.0-Liter V12 engine capable of developing 250Hp at 7,200 rpm moved by the 4-speed manual gearbox + reverse. The tubular frame and bodywork in aluminium panels allow the car to be very light, only 900 kg and reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h. Amo le Ferrari Classiche e non capita certo tutti I giorni di vedere una meravigliosa e rara 250 MM Berlinetta Pinin Farina. Questo esemplare del 1953, s/n 0254MM, uno dei 13 totali costruiti, ha preso parte all'edizione 2022 della Modena Cento Ore Classic. Ho avuto il piacere di vederla in azione per tutta la durata della manifestazione, sia su strada, sia sui circuiti di Misano Adriatico e Mugello. L'auto ha un'importante storia nelle competizioni. Appartenuta originariamente al conte italiano Paolo Marzotto con cui prese parte al XIII Giro di Sicilia ed alla Mille Miglia in quello stesso anno, successivamente venne venduta ad un'altro conte italiano, il sig. Innocente Baggio che arrivà al 19° posto assoluto nella Mille Miglia del 1954. Il successivo proprietario, lo svizzero Hans Wirz la utilizzò nelle gare in salita dal 1956 al 1958 ottenendo molte vittorie, praticamente sempre il primo posto in ogni gara in cui ha preso parte. Vederla nuovamente in azione è stato fantastico, forte del suo formidabile motore da 3.0-Litri V12 capace di sviluppare 250Hp a 7.200 giri/min mosso dal cambio manuale a 4 marce + retromarcia. Il telaio tubolare e la carrozzeria in pannelli di alluminio permettono alla vettura di essere molto leggera, solo 900 Kg e di raggiungere una velocità massima di 250 Km/h.
