The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the New York Mets 14-6 at PNC Park on June 9, 2023. Austin Hedges gave the Pirates their first lead of the night with a 2-run double in the second inning. A 5-run inning in the third brought the score to 7-2, with hits from Ke’Bryan Hayes, Ji Hwan Bae, and Josh Palacios. At the halfway point of the game, the Pirates led 10-2 after they put up three more runs in the fourth inning. Jack Suwinski and Carlos Santana hit back-to-back home runs in the eighth inning. Ke’Bryan Hayes recorded five hits, three runs, and four RBIs. Rich Hill threw a season-high seven innings and for the first time this season, each of the Pirates starting nine batters recorded at least one hit in the same game.
