The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the San Francisco Giants 2-1 at Oracle Park on May 30, 2023. Connor Joe started the game off with a solo home run in the first inning, but the Giants tied it up later in the same inning. The score remained tied at 1 until Rodolfo Castro scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning which put the Pirates ahead 2-1 and ultimately secured their win. In 4.1 innings pitched, starting pitcher Johan Oviedo gave up just three hits and one run, and he recorded five strikeouts on 92 pitches.
